Jason Scott with Browning’s Pharmacy & Health Care, recently earned the Assistive Technology Professional certification by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Tecnology Society of North America. A trained ATP analyzes the needs of individuals with disabilities, assists in the selection of the appropriate equipment and trains the consumer how to properly use the equipment. To become a certified ATP, one has to meet three requirements.
- eligibility (through work and education)
- an exam that tests competency in the field of assistive technology
- an ongoing commitment to practice the highest ethical standard
